Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – January 20, 2023 — Thursday’s first session of the 2023 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale posted a healthy $19,743 average on the “sold” horses.
At $50,000, the No. 1 selling yearling in the first session was the Flying Cowboy 123 colt Turners Hot Habit. The March 11, 2022 colt, consigned by Lazy E Ranch, LLC, as agent for Turner Farms, was purchased by Jumonville Farms of Louisiana. The sorrel colt is out of $199,000 earner and All American Futurity finalist One Hot Habit (by Walk Thru Fire).
The four horses that sold for $100,000 or more include three racing age geldings. The top three sellers were four or five-year-old geldings. This first session almost mirrored the first session of last year’s sale.
