OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—SEPTEMBER 25, 2020 — The 2020 Heritage Place Quarter Horse Yearling Sale began on a solid note Friday with across the board increases compared to opening day 2019. A $115,000 colt by leading sire Apollitical Jesstopped the first session.
“The sale finished very strong today,” Heritage Place General Manager Spence Kidney said late Friday. “We had a great crowd and a great offering today. We are very excited about tomorrow’s catalog and we wish everyone success!”
Pedro Ortiz paid $115,000 for Friday’s high-seller, Hip 314 Apollitical J Sky. James Ranch, Agent for Rancho El Cabresto, Inc. consigned the half-brother to six blacktype including champion Inseperable. The dam is RG3 winner A Delightful Legacy, by First Down Dash.
Lazy E Ranch, LLC, Agent for McColee Land & Livestock sold the second high-seller, Hip 304 Favorite Question, to Valeriano Racing Stables LLC for $100,000. The son of leading sire Favorite Cartel is from the first crop of Dash For Cash Futurity(G1) winner Famous Little Reba by One Famous Eagle.
Kay Bird, Sandy Irwin and Vicky Mutray purchased the third high-seller on Friday, Hip 36 Eyem Not Political, for $95,000 from the James Ranch, Agent consignment. The son of leading sire Apollitical Jess is out of the unraced Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Eye On Pyc, a half-sister to G1-placed Dutcher and G1-placed Eye On Corona. The second dam is the Grade 2 winner and multiple stakes producer Louisiana Eye Opener.
