OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–JANUARY 20, 2023 – Prices increased Friday in the second session of the Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale with slight gains in gross and average over last year’s Day 2.
“Consignors and buyers enjoyed another great second day at the 2023 Winter Mixed Sale today,” Heritage Place General Manager Spence Kidney said Friday evening. “The average on horses sold today was $23,349, up 5% over the same day last year with 92% of the horses offered sold. There is a great catalog for tomorrow and we look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday to close out the Winter Mixed Sale for 2023.”
Friday’s high-seller was a tie at $200,000 between two-time AQHA Racing champion Jess Savin Candy and the multiple stakes winning 3-year-old ApHC colt Hes Bulletproof.
Carmen Arevalo – HV Ranch purchased Ruidoso Futurity(G1) and Rainbow Futurity(G1) winner Hip 439 Jess Savin Candy for $200,000 from Lazy E Ranch, LLC, Agent for Jim Streelman or Bill Dale. The son of champion and leading sire Jess Good Candy from, the Pappasito mare Savin Grace, has earned $1,061,560 in two seasons at the track.
Lisa Miladinovich signed the $200,000 ticket for Hip 424 Hes Bulletproof (ApHC) by a leading Quarter Horse stallion Hes Relentless. Bob Moore Farms, LLC, Agent consigned the Cricket Bars Futurity and Speedhorse Appaloosa and Paint Juvenile winner out of R Sassy Corona by Pyc Paint Your Wagon. The second dam Perfect Intention is an ApHC Hall of Fame half-sister to Dash Ta Fame.
Friday’s third high-seller, Hip 410 Remember Me Jessie, was purchased by Luis Roberto Lozano for $180,000. Grant Farms sold the 11-year-old Mr Jess Perry mare out of AQHA Dam of Distinction Remember Me Rose by Corona Cartel. She is a half-sister to 13 black type.
Luis Roberto Lozano is the leading buyer after two sessions with seven purchases for gross receipts totaling $426,200. Carmen Arevalo – HV Ranch had two head for $360,00 and Rancho La Cobra paid $250,000 for two head.
Lazy E Ranch, Agent is the sale’s leading consignor or agent through two sessions with 54 head grossing $1,498,700. Bobby D. Cox has sold 32 head for $770,700 and Dunn Ranch, Agent has 18 head for $621,000.
Champion Uncle D, a first sale-crop sire, is the leading sire of short-yearlings (by average, two or more sold), with two head averaging $41,600. Corona Cartel has two for $40,000 and Tempting Dash averaged $38,500 on two head.
Champion Dulce Sin Tacha is the leading covering sire (by average, two or more sold) after two sessions with three in-foals mares averaging $72,000. Kvn Corona sold four in-foal mares for a $37,500 average and Tempting Dash has two in-foal mares for a $34,000 average.
