OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–NOVEMBER 4, 2023–Multiple graded stakes winner Woodys Copy Cat topped the 46th annual Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale in its final session on Saturday.
Selling as Hip 570 from the Cornerstone Stables, Agent consignment, Hip 750 Woodys Copy Cat will return to farm she was born on in New Mexico after her breeder, MJ Farms, paid $230,000 for the daughter of Woodbridge.
Owner Enrique Barrera purchased Woodys Copy Cat from MJ Farms for $4,700 at the 2017 Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Yearling Sale. The brown mare, from the Grade 3-placed Heza Fast Man mare Fast Copy Miss, won or placed in 15 of 25 career starts and banked $391,011.

Saturday’s second high-seller, Hip 579 Dare You To Beat Me, was purchased for $190,000 by Gael Garza. Lazy E Ranch, LLC, Agent consigned the stakes producing daughter of leading sire Tres Seis from the stakes winning and multiple stakes producing Victory Dash mare Daring Difference. This is the family of stakes winner and stakes sire Ethics Aside.
Double B S Ranch, LLC paid $165,000 for Saturday’s third high-seller, Hip 692 Fire And Delight. Roger Daly, Agent for Corner K Quarter Horses, LLC consigned the stakes producing daughter of Walk Thru Fire out of AQHA Dam of Distinction and Broodmare of the Year Fortune Of Delight by Six Fortunes. This is the family of champions A Delightful Dasher, Hes My Dasher and Insperable.
Bobby D. Cox was the sale’s leading buyer with three purchases totaling $400,000. Gael Garza purchased nine head for $330,000 and Mc Horse Sale Track & Supply paid $245,200 for five head.
Cox was also the leading consignor and/or agent with 23 head for gross receipts of $1,180,500. Paragon Farms, LLC sold 12 head for $448,500 and Roger Daly, Agent for Corner K Quarter Horses, LLC sold 4 head for $417,000.
Favorite Cartel was sale’s leading sire of yearlings (by average, two or more sold) with two head averaging $49,750. Flying Cowboy 123 had three yearlings average $41,167 and Tres Seis sold two for a $41,000 average.
Valiant Hero was the sale’s leading covering sire (by average, two or more sold) with two in-foal mares for a $109,000 average. Flying Cowboy 123had six in-foal mares for a $72,833 average and Favorite Cartel sold three in-foal mares for a $62,667 average.
