Lexington, KY – March 31, 2016 The Association of Racing Commissioners International has scheduled a “Town Hall” meeting at Remington Park in Oklahoma City in an effort to unify the racing industry and develop a consensus path to improve the policing of the sport and advance uniform regulatory policies. Attendees will be given an opportunity to discuss industry subjects like uniform medication, uniformity in model rules, pending Federal legislation, and other timely issues affecting the racing industry.
The public meeting will take place at Remington Park on Track North beginning at 10:30am on April 19, 2016. This meeting is open to all horsemen, racing industry participants, and racing fans. Registration is requested so they can set the seating to accommodate the number of people planning to attend.
Previous meetings have been held at Santa Anita and Gulfstream. The ARCI is also working with the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission, the tracks and horsemen’s groups in Oklahoma to conduct this meeting. During March the association conducted sessions in conjunction the Organization of Racing Investigators as well as the “Mid-Atlantic Group” that has effectively pursued uniform regulatory policies in their region. Earlier in April they will be holding a similar meeting at Keenland in Kentucky, and an additional Town Hall meeting is being planned in April for Lone Star Park.

The OQHRA encourages its directors and all owners, breeders, and trainers to register and plan to attend the meeting.
