Oklahoma City, OK – October 11, 2016 — Heritage Place held its 5th Annual Thoroughbred Yearling & Mixed Sale in Oklahoma City on October 9th. The Yearling session saw a 22% average increase compared to last year and the gross sales were almost even with last year’s numbers.
With a yearling and mixed sale session, 73 of 96 offered sold this year for a total of $226,850 and an average of $3,108. That represents a slight increase from last year’s average of $3,025 when 84 of 107 head sold for $254,100.
The high seller sold for $18,000 during the Yearling Session. The march foal, sired by Kentucky stallion Astrology and out of the multiple stakes producing Vanlandingham mare Diamond Ruth, was purchased by Al and Bill Ulwelling from the consignment of Rusty Roberts, Agent.
The highest-priced yearling filly, sold for $16,000 to David Foster from the Brewster Ranch, agent for Clark Brewster. The Oklahoma-bred, is sired by Omega Code and out of the stakes winning and graded stakes-placed Wild Again mare Tuff Chick.
The average for the yearling session was $5,075, up 22.7 percent from last year’s yearling average of $4,137.
