OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 13, 2017—Remington Park completed the second night of qualifying trials for the $1,154,700 Heritage Place Futurity on Saturday night with All American Stone topping the time-sheet at 350 yards.
Owned by Rancho La Cobra of Jarrell, Texas and trained by Daniel Luna, All American Stone was ridden by Jorge Linares. The 2-year-old colt covered the distance in 17.657 seconds over a fast track in the seventh of 12 trials, winning by 2-¼ lengths.
The trial win is the first from two career starts this year for All American Stone, who won his Remington Park debut. A colt by Captain Courage from the Eyesa Special mare I Opening Sensation, All American Stone was bred in Texas by S Bar S. An * Heritage Place Sale Graduate*, All American Stone sold in the Robicheaux Ranch, Agent consignment under the name Opening Courage.
Trace Dynasty *Heritage Place Sale Graduate* defeated Laico Bird Stakes winner Pyc Fun N Fancy by one-length in the ninth to get the second fastest clocking of :17.720 seconds. Champion jockey G.R. Carter, Jr. had the riding assignment aboard the Kathleen O. Matey homebred daughter of world champion sire FDD Dynasty.
It was the first win in two starts for the brown filly out of graded Grade 3 winner Wowzer Won by Streakin Sixes.
Hez Our Boy, a Grade 3-placed son of first crop sire Hez Our Secret, was an impressive 2½ length winner in the third trial for owner Almada Racing and trainer Josue Ponce. Hez Our Boy has won two of three starts this year with his only loss a third-place effort in the Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity(G3) March 22. He has earned $33,996.
Jose Alvarez rode the gray gelding to the third fastest time of :17.769 seconds. Burnett Ranches LLC bred the $14,200 TQHA Yearling Sale graduate in Texas from the Corona Cartel mare Strawberry Cartel.
Jose Guzman’s aforementioned Pyc Fun N Fancy *Heritage Place Sale Graduate* held on to the fourth fastest qualifying mark of :17.864 following his second-place effort in the ninth trial.
Trainer Luz Chavira conditions the stakes winning 2-year-old son of leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon from the Mr Jess Perry mare First Prize Fancy. Bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley, Pyc Fun N Fancy is a brother to Remington Park Futurity(RG3) winner Im A Fancy Pyc and 2016 Speedhorse Futurity(G3) winner Fast N Fancy. Another sister First Fancy Prize won the Mother’s Day Stakes at Delta Downs tonight.
The $32,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate has compiled a (4) 2-2-0 record and earned $132,597 this season. He won the Laico Bird Stakes on April 22nd and was second in the Grade 3 Oklahoma Futurity on March 25th.
Descent *Heritage Place Sale Graduate*, a California-bred son of world champion sire FDD Dynasty won the second trial by 1 ¼ lengths to get the final qualifying spot on Saturday with a :17.931 clocking.
Trainer Eddie D. Willis, who saddled five winners on Saturday’s card, trains the $30,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate for Ed Melzer.
