OKLAHOMA CITY – The second day of training races contested at Remington Park were run into a strong southerly headwind, ranging from 28 to 34mph. Darker Tint cut through the strongest of those winds in race six to post the best 250-yard time of the session at :13.77 over a fast track.
Owned by Palomino Trucking and trained by Ruben Soto, Darker Tint is a 2-year-old Oklahoma-bred colt by PYC Paint Your Wagon from the Dash To Chivato mare Just Wanna Be Me. He was sold at the 2015 Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City for $11,000.
Thursday’s training set included 13 races, bringing to 25 the amount of training races run this week. Remington Park will conduct training races next week, possibly on both Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 22 & 23, beginning at 11am.
The Remington Park racing year will begin Friday, March 11 and continue thru Saturday, June 4. Post times for the first three race dates will be 6pm on March 11, 5pm on March 12 and 1:30pm on March 13.
