OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–NOVEMBER 2, 2023–Heritage Place kicked off its 46th annual Fall Mixed Sale today in Oklahoma City with two sessions. Session one featured Quarter Horse and Paint yearlings and session two was for Thoroughbred yearlings.
Mindy Holloway paid $100,000 for today’s sale-topper, Hip 207 Blue Sumoke from the consignment of Roger Daly, Agent for Corner K Quarter Horses, LLC.
“We have a great selection of horses for the mixed sessions remaining in the Fall Mixed Sale and looking forward to seeing everyone Friday and Saturday.” Heritage Place General Manager Spence Kidney said.
Day-one sale-topper Blue Sumoke is by three-time world champion sire FDD Dynasty from the RG3 winning Country Chicks Man Sumokin. The gray colt is a half or full brother to four black type including La Fiesta Futurity winner Jm County Man.
Deborah Smith paid $86,500 the Thursday’s second high-seller, Hip 84 Trainspotting, a colt by world champion sire Freighttrain B. Bobby D. Cox consigned the colt of stakes winner the Corona Cartel mare Cartel Regards who is the dam of four black type including multiple Grade 1 winner Ezee Monee.
Cox also consigned the third high-seller Hip 144 Maxxe, another colt by Freighttrain B. Norman Allen paid $73,000 for the colt out of Corazonas by One Famous Eagle. This is the family of champions Wahoo and Brimmerton.
Deborah Smith was the leading buyer on day 1 with two purchases totaling $155,000. Norman Allen paid $103,000 for two yearlings and Mindy Holloway had the sale-topper for $100,000.
Bobby D. Cox was the leading consignor or agent on day 1 with nine head for gross receipts of $448,500. Roger Daly, Agent for Corner K Quarter Horses, LLC had two head for $142,000 and Lazy Oaks Ranch, LLC sold three yearlings for $101,000.
Favorite Cartel was the leading yearling sire (by average with two or more sold) with two yearlings averaging $49,750. Flying Cowboy 123 sold three for a $41,167 average and Tres Seis had two for a $41,000 average.

Friday (Nov 3rd) second session starts promptly at 10 a.m., a Mixed Session for Hips 259 thru 599.
A reception sponsored by OQHRA will be held in the Heritage Place Restaurant & Club following Friday’s final hip.
Session 4, the final session offering Hips 560 thru 859, will start promptly 10 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 4th), consisting of mixed horses.
