StallionESearch, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–SEPTEMBER 24, 2022–Positive vibes filled the Heritage Place Sales Pavilion as buyers continued their aggressive bidding through the closing session of the 2022 Heritage September Yearling Sale on Saturday in Oklahoma City.
Over the two-day sale 39 yearlings broke the six-figure mark, eight broke $200,000 and up while two yearlings surpassed the $500,000 barrier pushing the 2022 sale into all-time record territory.
“Average price on horses sold was up 14% over last year’s record,” Heritage Place General Manager Spence Kidney said Saturday evening. “The high seller today was $515,000 followed closely by another yearling for $510,000 for a record second day sale average of $43,405.”
“We appreciate all the consignors, buyers and staff for another great sale!.” Kidney concluded.
Katherine Reilly paid $515,000 for the high-seller, Hip 593 Maxximumm, a colt of leading first-crop sire Kvn Corona consigned by Lazy E Ranch, LLC, Agent for McColee Land & Livestock, LLC. The gray colt is out of the stakes-placed Walk Thru Fire mare Lady Perry On Fire, a sister to stakes winners Jess Walking Fire, Free And Sass, Sassy On Fire and stakes-placed Jess Fire Me. The second dam is AQHA Dam of Distinction Jess Sass Me by Mr Jess Perry.
AQHA Champion breeder Bobby D. Cox paid $510,000 for Hip 618 B CN You, a colt by champion Kiss My Hocks consigned by 13 Racing, LLC, Agent for Homer A. Hill Estate. Out of the stakes winning Valiant Hero mare Glory Rider, B CN You is a half-brother to three blacktype including stakes winner Jess B Glory. This is the family of stakes winners Mighty B Valiant, Mighty Invictus, Jess B Mighty and Mighty Obsession.
Cox led all buyers with four purchases for $1,005,000. Rachuan Suarez MVZ paid $560,600 for 20 yearlings and Katherine L. Reilly had the one purchase for $515,000.
Rancho El Cabresto, Inc. was the leading consignor or agent with 18 head bringing gross receipts of $1,768,000. Bobby D. Cox had 31 head gross $1,651,500 while Lazy E Ranch, LLC, Agent for McColee Land & Livestock, LLC sold 18 yearlings for $1,517,500. Lazy E Ranch, LLC, Agent for Reliance Ranch, LLC and Katherine Reilly paid $515,000 for the high-seller, Hip 593 Maxximumm, Agent were also among the top 10 consignors.
Walk Thru Fire was the sale’s leading yearling sire (by average, with two or more sold, with three yearlings at $96,667. Apollitical Jess had 40 yearlings average $95,525 and Kiss My Hocks sold 15 for a $70,500 average.
