Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – January 21, 2023 — With 10 head selling for $100,000 or more on the second day of the Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale on Friday, the market remained strong at the nation’s largest sale of racing-bred American Quarter Horses.
Through the first two sessions, sold horses have grossed more than $10 Million while showing a slight increase in average prices. Horses in training continue to attract a lot of interest.
The 2-time Grade I winning four-year-old gelding Jess Savin Candy $1,062,000, who was the Champion Two-Year-Old and Champion Two-Year-Old Gelding of 2021, brought $200,000 from Carmen Arevalo – HV Ranch. Consigned by Lazy E Ranch, LLC, agent for James Streelman and Bill Dale, the son of Jess Good Candy is expected to return to the races this year.
Trained by John Stinebaugh, Jess Savin Candy swept the Ruidoso Futurity G1 and Rainbow Futurity in 2021.
In what has to be a world record for an Appaloosa horse in training, Hes Bulletproof also brought $200,000. The three-year-old son of Champion runner and Champion sire Hes Relentless was consigned by Bob Moore Farms, LLC, and purchased by Lisa Miladinovich. The multiple stakes winner of $40,000 is out of a half-sister to four Champions of the Appaloosa Horse Club.
